A polarographic study of Evans blue and its combination with plasma proteins.

چکیده
The binding of T-1824 (Evans blue) with plasma has been extensively studied in the past by Allen and Orahovats (1) by means of the cellophane sorption method. Although this approach yielded excellent results, a simpler and more direct method seemed desirable. The basis for this new method is furnished by the observation, made in 1939,’ that the free T-1824 gives rise to a distinct polarographic reduction wave, whereas the proteinbound dye is completely inactive polarographically. (The combination of another azo dye, methyl orange, is different in some respects (2) and will be discussed later.)

The Effect of Methylene Blue in Combination with Red Visible Light on Model Viruses Inactivation and Coagulation Factors in Fresh Frozen Plasma
Background and Aims: Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) is one of blood components. The risk of transmission of viruses from blood components regardless selection of blood donors and screening donated blood still remains. There are several methods for viral inactivation. In this study methylene blue (MB) photo inactivation process was used for inactivating viruses. Materials and Methods: In this study M...
متن کاملChromatographic determination of Evans blue in plasma and serum.
The methods at present available for the determination of the dye, Evans blue, in plasma have certain disadvantages. Direct colorimetry of dyed plasma is inapplicable where the plasma is haemolyzed, turbid or lipaemic. The butanol extraction procedure of Harington, Pochin & Squire (1940) is troublesome and time-consuming where many analyses must be carried out; its accuracy is lower than those ...

This study examined the effects of the supplementation of China rose powder of Hibiscus rosasiensis towards blue gourami with different stocking densities.China rose (1.5%) was used on two different stocking densities (20 and 30 fishes per aquarium). The group that contain a total of 20 (individual/aquarium) and 30 (individual/aquarium) densities of fishes, are referred as CH1 and CH2 respectiv...

Background: The most devastating manifestations of diabetes mellitus are vascular complications. Although there are many factors involved in the pathogenesis of diabetic vasculopathy, many studies suggest a role for glucose–induced oxidative stress. Studies in animal models, have demonstrated that the administration of antioxidants restores normal endothelial functions. The study was designed t...
متن کاملBlood Coagulation Induced by Iranian Saw-Scaled Viper (Echis Carinatus) Venom: Identification, Purification and Characterization of a Prothrombin Activator
Objective(s): Echis carinatus is one of the venomous snakes in Iran. The venom of Iranian Echis carinatus is a rich source of protein with various factors affecting the plasma protein and blood coagulation factor. Some of these proteins exhibit types of enzymatic activities. However, other items are proteins with no enzymatic activity. Materials and Methods: In order to study the mechanism ...
